I am fascinated by the different ways humans communicate and come to a shared understanding of the world. One of the tools that helps me explore this topic is linguistics. This, combined with my background in Computer Science, has led me to pursue a Master's degree in artificial intelligence and natural language processing at Université Paris-Saclay, where I delved into topics such as semantic search, machine translation, and language models. After the recent spike in interest around AI and especially LLMs, I witnessed a lot of exaggerated claims and sensationalised hype about AI chatbots. I try to use my knowledge to demystify AI and create a better understanding of how they work and (more importantly) how they don't work.
